Baby & Toddler Size Guide

Baby & Toddler Size Guide

Babies grow at their own pace, so height and weight are a more reliable guide than age. Our sizes run from Newborn through 3T.

Garment measurements for a specific item are listed on that product page. Where the two disagree, trust the product page – it describes the piece you are buying.

Size by height and weight

Size Typical age Height Weight
Newborn Up to 1 month Up to 21.5 in Up to 9 lb
0–3M 1–3 months 21.5–24 in 9–12.5 lb
3–6M 3–6 months 24–26.5 in 12.5–16.5 lb
6–12M 6–12 months 26.5–29 in 16.5–22 lb
12–18M 12–18 months 29–31.5 in 22–25 lb
18–24M 18–24 months 31.5–33.5 in 25–28 lb
2T 2–3 years 33.5–36 in 28–32 lb
3T 3–4 years 36–39 in 32–36 lb

Ranges are general US sizing guidance. Always check the garment measurements on the product page for the piece you are buying.

How to measure

  • Height – lay your baby flat and measure from the top of the head to the heel.
  • Weight – use the weight from your most recent pediatric visit if you have one.
  • Chest – measure around the fullest part, keeping the tape flat but not tight.

Between two sizes? Size up

A slightly roomy piece gets worn for months; a snug one gets worn for weeks. This matters more for personalized pieces, because they are made to order and can’t be swapped for another size on demand.

Buying a gift and don’t know the size

Choose something size doesn’t apply to – a blanket, a name sign, a keepsake or a gift set. Our Baby Shower Gifts and New Baby Gifts collections are built for exactly this.

If you would rather send clothing, sizing up is the safer bet: 6–12M is worn later than a newborn size, which many babies outgrow quickly.

Sizing and returns

Non-personalized items can be returned within 30 days. Personalized items are made to order, which limits returns – so please check the size before you order, and read our Refund Policy if you are unsure.

Still not certain? Contact us with the height and weight you have, and we will tell you which size we would pick. More answers in the FAQ and Materials & Care.
